Dr. Namie Kong grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. After her undergraduate studies, she was part of a pediatric cancer research team at the University of San Francisco, California, where she co-authored papers published in scientific journals. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania and later completed a General Practice Residency in New York.
Dr. Namie realized her passion for working with children through the rewarding experiences she gained both in private practice and in serving on dental mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala. She pursued this passion and obtained her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Rochester in New York, where she received the Basil G. Bibby award for her research on mobile dental units and their role in treating underserved children.
Dr. Namie is committed to helping children have positive dental experiences and healthy smiles by showing genuine warmth and care. She wants to make the dental office a welcoming place their entire life and strives to build relationships with her patients and their families based on trust, kindness and compassion.
Outside the office, Dr. Namie enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with her husband and daughter. She also loves reading mystery novels while cozying up with her cute cats! Dr. Namie is thrilled to be a part of the Forest Orthodontic & Pediatric Dentistry Family and looks forward to meeting you and your family!
